AS Monaco to make Jose Mourinho the highest paid coach in world ?

Jose Mourinho is reportedly on the verge of becoming the next coach of AS Monaco.

The French side are backed by billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, and the Russian wants to make the Real Madrid coach the highest paid manager in the world, according to the Daily Mirror.

It is thought that Mourinho will be offered in excess of �12m a year at Stade Louis II, as Rybolovlev looks to eventually turn the side into one of the biggest in Europe and a team that can challenge domestic rivals Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite languishing in France's second division, Monaco are preparing for promotion to Ligue 1 . Monaco reached the Champions League final in 2004, but fell 3-0 to Mourinho's Porto.

However, Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing the 50-year-old while his former club, Chelsea, remain in the hunt to lure him back to London.
