What really makes Real Madrid more valuable than Man United?

Haydn Shaughnessy: I was struck by the Forbes estimate of Real Madrid�s new valuation, making it the world�s most valuable sports club and the complex reasons behind it. Is there a simpler explanation that�s going begging?

Real started winning again.

And they are winning because they bought a manager who guarantees success.

That man is Jose Mourinho, who, incidentally, they are likely to lose at the end of this season.

In business terms, Real have taken the Manchester United route of playing friendlies across the world during the close season, to bring in new fans.

But soccer clubs go nowhere fast without success on the field. Without success they don�t attract top players and it is Mourinho who guarantees success wherever he goes.

As Wikipedia puts it: Mourinho is regarded by some players, coaches, and critics as one of the best football coaches of all time.
