Jose Mourinho has joined Sir Alex Ferguson as only the second manager in English football history to earn more than £100 million.

Research conducted by SportsDirect News reveals the ‘Special One’s’ earnings over a 13-year managerial career total almost £110m after taking in two spells at Chelsea, as well as trophy-laden tenures at FC Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid. For two years, he also sat in the hot seat at Benfica.

In total, Mourinho’s time at Stamford Bridge has earned him more than £70 million in basic pay, win bonuses and a hefty £20m severance package when the 50-year-old left the employment of Roman Abramovich by “mutual consent” at the end of the 2007 campaign.
