Cagliari have won 14 matches in the 2008/09 Serie A championship (10 at home and 4 away). The last time the Rossoblu bettered 14 wins was in the 1971/72 season when they won 15 games. Cagliari's best ever performance in one top-flight campaign is 17 wins in 1969/70. With 14 wins this season, Massimiliano Allegri's Cagliari have matched their tally of victories in 1968/69 and 1992/93.

Lopez chasing Albertosi tally

Diego Luis Lopez has made Cagliari history. With 175 top-flight appearances under his belt, the Uruguayan defender is the tenth most present Rossoblu player in Serie A. Lopez, who is now chasing ninth-placed Albertosi's tally of 177 Serie A appearances for Cagliari, made his debut for the Sardinian outfit in Cagliari 5-0 Sampdoria on 27 September 1998.
